Specifications Technical Specs

For the more demanding professional, our 40200H-CT spiral type wood thickness planer with HSS (high speed steel) tips will fit the bill. With its 4 heavy duty guide posts and 2 heavy duty screw posts design, manual cutterhead snipe lock, enclosed internal gears for height adjustment, 8 position Repeat Cut Depth Stop and large tables, it has all the features a pro would need. And at about 90lbs, it can still be maneuvered to and around a job site. The 40200H-CT also features our newly redesigned spiral style cutterhead with 26 HSS 2-sided tips and a redesigned dust chute. Both of these new features create better chip removal and lessen the chance for tear out due to poor chip evacuation even on hardwoods and figured stock. The individual cutter tips can easily and quickly be rotated, or changed, with very little downtime keeping your project moving forward and on time saving you money. The standard 2 ½” and 4” dual sized dust port is included along with the tools necessary to change or rotate cutter tips.

Great Planer June 6, 2018
Reviewer: Anton from Dunedin, Florida
This is an excellent planer. It arrived in good shape and ready to go. I ran individual boards of maple, red oak, Purple Heart, ash, and hickory and a combination of all 5 in a butcher block table top that was 6' long and there was no tear out or snipe. This is a heavy duty machine and it had zero problem with anything I have thrown at it. Thank you Cutech, I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a great planer!

Several Jobs and still smooth as silk February 12, 2018
Reviewer: Victor Soares from Austin, TX
Very pleased with my purchase! Easy to adjust it, simple to operate, was easy to put together. Planing leaves a very smooth surface. Cuts well enough to even go against the grain on some boards without chip out. Anti-snipe lock works well too. Gives a nice, consistent thickness across the entire cutting surface.

One year after purchase, no regrets whatsoever October 23, 2017
Reviewer: Collin Houseal from Smithville, AR United States
I purchased the 40200H almost a year ago and can say without hesitation this is a solid, well-built, precision piece of machinery.

Dust collection is a must to keep the cutter head port from blocking up, aside from the overall mess this thing creates. It feeds consistently and has very good repeatability and adjustability. It's not quiet by any means but it's not nearly as obnoxious as other benchtop planers I've used. And the quality of cut is simply amazing. A very light sanding and you're done.

I also have the Cutech 40160H 6" jointer and can say all the same good things about it. And to top it all off, the customer service and support from Mike and Doug are top-notch.

I highly recommend Cutech tools for any serious weekend woodworker. No, they're not a highly recognized name, but don't let that stop you. You'll get a better price, better quality, better performance and better service than any of the mainstream brands.

Awesome October 20, 2017
Reviewer: Becky Brown from Grand Bay, Alabama

When I stumbled across Cutech I was amazed at the price for just the straight knife planer and blown away at the pricing for the spiral cutter head. I thought it was too good to be true. I had never heard of the company before but I was determined to get a spiral cutter head and Cutech's price made it too difficult to ignore.
I took my time deciding which model to get and finally decided to just go for it with the Professional model 40200H-CT.
It arrived quickly and I couldn't wait to use it.
I ran some rough Cedar through it and I was absolutely amazed! They came out as smooth as glass and no snipe!
I am so happy with my purchase! Money well spent!
Thank you so much, Cutech, for making it possible for small shop owners to purchase QUALITY equipment at an affordable price. I wouldn't be able to own such an EXCELLENT piece of equipment without. Cutech's great pricing.
I just ordered the 8" Jointer. I can't wait to get it!
Thanks again, Cutech!!

My Review January 9, 2017
Reviewer: John Buob from Henderson, NV United States
I would like to offer a review of my 40200 planer I bought when I first learned of your company.

Being in the market for a benchtop planer, I was a bit skeptical about a "new" unheard of company's products but I liked what I read about the planers so I ordered the professional model.  After unpacking it, I cleaned the cutter head as suggested and then hooked up my dust pipe and grabbed an oak board and ran it thru.  It makes way less noise than a straight blade planer and the cut is as smooth as if it was sanded with 180 paper.  It is absolutely great.  Next I will be looking at the benchtop jointer.   Very impressed with the planer to say the least.
