Specifications Technical Specs

Just like our workhorse 40200H-CT our new 40200HC-CT for the professional woodworker has just kicked it up a notch by adding Carbide inserts to our spiral cutterhead right out of the box. Our customers have been requesting that we offer this machine preloaded with Carbide inserts from the beginning. With its 4 heavy duty guide posts and 2 heavy duty elevating screws, cutterhead snipe lock, internal gears for height adjustment, depth Repeat Cut and large tables, it has all the features a pro would need. And at about 90lbs, it can still be maneuvered to and around a job site. The 40200HC-CT also features our newly redesigned spiral style cutterhead with 26 2-sided Carbide tips and a redesigned dust chute. Both of these new features create better chip removal and lessen the chance for tear out due to poor chip evacuation even on hardwoods and figured stock. The individual cutter tips can easily and quickly be rotated or changed with very little downtime, keeping your project moving forward and on time saving you money. The standard 2 ½” and 4” dual sized dust port is included along with the tools necessary to change or rotate cutter tips. Click here for planer comparison chart

Outstanding results February 16, 2018
Reviewer: Jerry from New Mexico
Well it has taken me quite a while to get my shop organized and open up my 40200HC-CT planer.  My first project is a door for our courtyard.  I needed to size some 2X8 pine boards I have been aging for a year.  After jointing two edges with my Cutech 40160H-CT I began planning my boards to 1.25”.  The results are outstanding. Smooth finish with no sniping at all.  A quality unit I will enjoy for a long time.

Just Add Wood!! February 12, 2018
Reviewer: Steve Norris from Cincinnati, Ohio
I recent received this planer along with the MODEL 40200HC-CT joiner.  I've taken both for a brief test drive and so far, so good.

I had looked at many other models and styles before settling on this particular machine.

It is virtually ready to go right out of the box.  Simply slap on the knob to the depth adjustment wheel, attach the dust port and POWER UP!

The result was impressive.  Few to no snipes and a very smooth surface.  In fact, you could almost get by with no sanding.  It's THAT SMOOTH.  I like the individual cutters (carbide) vs. the straight blade cutters on other machines which tend to leave more snipes.

Once I get a chance to take this "out on the highway," I'll come back and revisit this review.

On a separate note, the customer service BEFORE the sale was excellent (thanks, Mike).  I hope the same will be true should I encounter any issues with the planer and jointer in the future.

Great planer February 7, 2018
Reviewer: Trent from Richmond, MO United States
This is the best bench top planer I've used.  Plenty of power,  minimal snipe.  I was plesently surprised at how quiet it is.  The term "bench top" is used loosely.  This thing is a beast.

The only thing I would change is to have the option of the dust chute pointing out the other side.

I paired it with a Model 40180HCB-CT Jointer.  Great combo.

Very happy with my purchase!

Excellent right out of box November 28, 2017
Reviewer: Kent Kimerre from Elkton, Maryland
I just purchased this planer, and right out of the box put through it approximately 80 board feet of lumber.   I started with some pine just to understand the tool.   Then I moved to black walnut which was wonderful.  Finally, I have some old reclaimed wood that had been stored in our haymow for probably 80 years.   I didn't really know what it was.   Turned out to be red oak and the planer made it beautiful.   Very simple to operator and did a fantastic job making lumber.

40200HC-CT is the best 13-inch planer available November 22, 2017
Reviewer: Nate Crowell from PA
I upgraded to the 40200HC-CT from a Ryobi 12.5-inch planer, and there is no comparison. Shipped to my house in 2 days and arrived in pristine condition. Setup was very easy, and the instructions were user-friendly (although the video on the product page was helpful too). Just a few minutes cleaning off the oil and it was ready to go. Very quiet operation and smooth cut. The spiral cutterhead really sets Cutech apart and makes this the best planer for the money under 15 inches. The tool storage compartment is a nice touch (it's annoying to have to search for the right size allen wrench--I have them taped to most of my other tools). Also like that it has a 4-inch dust port option; however, you can't switch sides--the 4-inch port is on the left (if you're facing the back/outfeed side) and the 2.5-inch port is on the right, you just cover up the one you aren't using with the included cover. I like that Cutech keeps innovating and offering new models (like the 8-inch jointer--I have the 6-inch with spiral cutterhead and HSS inserts). I haven't had this long enough to tell whether the carbide inserts are worth the extra expense compared to the HSS, but I felt it would be worth it to get carbide at the time of purchase. I spend probably four hours a week woodworking and the HSS cutters on my Cutech jointer lasted about 8 months before I needed to rotate them.
